In just his second year as head football coach, Mike London guided Virginia to an 8-4 record and a bid to the Chick-fil-A Bowl in Atlanta. A tireless recruiter, dynamic motivator and developer of talent, Coach London has re-established Virginia Football as a contender in the ACC and a force on the recruiting trail.

The 78,000 square foot indoor practice facility will provide every opportunity to continue the momentum already established by Virginia Football. The ability to practice in inclement weather and to train during the winter months is critical to the continued growth and development of the football program. Schools such as Georgia Tech, Duke and Auburn have recently opened indoor practice facilities and plans are underway to construct similar facilities at Clemson, Florida State and Virginia Tech.

At a cost of $13 million to be funded entirely by private sources, the athletics department and the Virginia Athletics Foundation have embarked on an effort to secure contribution commitments by March 1, 2012 to reach the $13 million mark. This would enable the construction to be completed by the spring of 2013, allowing the Cavaliers to use the facility during spring practice. In addition, all of the athletics department's field sports will be able to take advantage of the facility.
